Auto to 5speed conversion?
I'm attempting to do an automatic to 5 speed conversion in a 1990 civic cx, I was just wondering what parts I might need and if anyone has any info on doing it.
So far I figured I need, clutch pedal assembly, shifter linkage (5spd), the cable part I am a little confused on because I have only worked on hydro cars. Also since the car was automatic, do the mounts now change location as well if I use a 5speed transmission?
thanks for the help

OK well your going to need the manual tranny, manual ECU, shift linkage, clutch cable, pedal assembly (comes as a set all 3 pedals).
As for how to do it search here https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch cause it has been covered quite a few times.
But just for a little info the back tranny mount is different your going to have to swap out the bracket thats bolted onto the cross member, the other tranny mount on the side might also be different? I did it but I forgot but you will be able to find out the info under the search.
For wiring your going to have to wires the park switch either together or to the nuetral safety switch on the clutch so you can start the car, your going to have to run the reverse lights from the auto shifter out to the tranny so you have reverse light and I believe that might be all for wiring?
As for the clutch cable all you do is run it from the pedal out the drivers side it swings around to the passenger side to the bracket and thats all not too hard your best bet is to just look at a manual car and see how it runs and then copy it for yours.

He most likely meant DX. As for how much it costs it isnt that expensive and if he gets a new motor he is still going to have to do a auto to manual swap anyway cause he obviously wants it stick.

In Canada we got the Civic CX, basically an STD. For auto to manual you'd need: shift linkage, pedal assembly (you'd have to drill some holes in your shifter area - do a search), clutch cable, transmission mount.
damn you both beat me to it!
