Default changed clutch.. speedometer isnt working.. 91 teg..

okay.. so i changed my friends clutch on his 91 teg.. on the VSS has those two hoses.. well i pulled them off and of course hella PS fluid drained out.. well.. now that everything is back together, how come the speedometer doesn't work anymore? rpm works but no speed..? input.. and yes... i refilled the ps container thing and plugged in the cable..

wtf?

How is the vss set up on a teg of that gen? On a civic its a metal wire running from the tranny to the guage cluster. Its basically a wire that spins as the tranny turns, and transfers that spinning to the guage cluster, the vss senses from there on.

Asssuming the setup is the same for the teg, you probably didnt plug the cable back in, or didnt plug it in properley. Its tied to the back of the tranny, neer the output output, on the top...well at least on a civic of that gen.

Are you sure you have the VSS bolted back into the tranny properly? You know now that you're just supposed to undo the bolt and pull it out rather than pulling the hoses right?
I had trouble with my VSS making an odd noise after my clutch change but it was still working. Have you refilled the fluid?

i did try to unbolt it but the damn da's have no room what so ever.. so i just pulled the hoses.. i didn't care.. power steering still works and yes i refilled the fluid.. imma check to see if the cable is in all the way..

Its the cable.... make sure its in all the way and be sure to put the cable retainer clip back on.....
