wheel too wide for tire?

has anyone ever mounted a 205/45-16 on a 8" wide wheel?

Good Luck, but I doubt even if you manage to stretch it on, it'll even fit without clearance probs.

I'm not doubting that it will fit. I can fit 225/45 hoosier's on now. I'm looking for experience here.

I don't think a 205 would fit on an eight inch wheel.. you'd have better luck getting your 225 hoosiers on there.

Depends what kind of tire. Not all 205s are equal. I know I saw a post awhile back where a 205 Azenis fit fine on a 8" rim... But for the most part your best luck is a 225

That was on a 15". Those were Todd's. I'm looking at 16's
