does the closed deck make a difference? ive seen quite a few nice boosted 4th gen H22's but i dont think ive ever seen a turbocharged 5th gen. JRSC yes but no turbo. why is that?

i think firedrake is kinda of an extreme case, extremely cool, that is, but i doubt most turbo setups will be quite as successful as him.

i dunno...it just seems like the H-series isnt boost-friendly. and really...why should it be? it wasnt designed for it in the first place

sure you can rebuild this and that, but after all of that, you might as well have bought a supra/STI

imho..

There are plenty of successfully boosted H22 engines.

It's all about tuning.

back to the topic.... i believe even the 4th gen h22's still have weak rings. THats what normally goes first on h22's.

I would suggest building your h22 first before even boosting a weak amount. your gonna have to rebuild sometime. Might as well delay it awhile...

If you plan on ever tracking your car (ie with NASA or SCCA) I would not recoment boost for any prelude. It's just too much added stress, and added heat, and the car would not last. However, it can work out ok if the car is for drag racing and/or street use, but you will need to keep a close eye on everything and do it right. A good system with lots of tuning, and probably an oil cooler.
