Default Help: code 3, Bad Map sensor - What do i do

my check engine light came on yesterday and gave a code 3 which is a bad map sensor code......do i just buy a new one, how much are they and what does it do exactly cuz my car is running like **** (high idle, bogging, and sluggish pickup)......should i check the MAP connection on the ECU since my Fields VTEC controller is connected between it?

i think you're on to something - maybe a wire broke. my map sensor is now relocated off my TB with a vacuum line and when i pinched it the car got all sick (not the good sick) sounding in a hurry.

definitely check for loose connections before replacing the map sensor. most likely its a loose wire dealing with the VTEC controller.

solder all your VTEc controller to ECU wires, I had the same problem. When i took it apart i found that one of the erminals were totsally cut loose!!!! the loose wire was from the Fiedls SFC unit to the harness.....no wonder. Now to fix my distrubutor
problem....

its the fields...i took mine out. theres too many problems with that and im sure the wires were not loose cause i would get it every few weeks then it would go away after i reset the ecu.
