Fields SFC and problems with MAP Sensor?
anyone ever had a problem with their Fields SFC controller messing up due to the connection with the MAP sensor?
I'm throwing a code 3 (MAP) and wondering if it might be related to the controller... it never has done this since having the SFC (about 8months)...
otherwise, i'm thinking it's just a MAP sensor problem

yep I use to have this problem with my SFC a long time ago, until I ripped the fackin thing out. thing royally pissed me off whever it would trip out the map sensor. I'd turn the ignition off (while driving) then kick it back on and the check engine light (map sensor) would go away for a while. It was weird, it ran fine for the longest time then slowly digressed into a piece of widdle'd schitt. I'm sure it was some loose connection...but I eventually went VAFC....until my car got stolen
interesting... did the car begin to hesitate a lot? Was it progressive... or did it just suddenly happen?
I'm having problems with my car and the ecu finally popped a code 3... i might just run the car with the Fields turned off and see if it runs better...

I think I even tried running the SFC in dormant mode and it would still do the map sensor coniption (sp?) fit...
You guys know that if you use a Fields or AFC to add fuel, it increases the MAP signal reaching the ECU and at WOT can push it up above what the ECU thinks is "atmospheric pressure" and it will throw a code 3 just like if you put a turbo on. Honda ECU doesn't like MAP signals anywhere over 3 volts.

Hehe us turbo guys learn all about the joys of MAP code 3.
Most cars I've messed with you can go to about +8% on a VAFC without throwing a CEL but each car is different.

eh.. my fields get's all shitty with me too.
It gets boggy when it's on.. like cruise control.. rollin down the interstate and it'll start taking a ****. If i run it in dormant mode.. it does the same damn thing .. now if I kill hte power to it all together from the back of the unit switch.. it hasn't bogged since. I'm just procrastinating on ripping that mean peice of electronical wizardy out of my car and throwing it out the window
I'll replace it with a VAFC if I bother to replace it all.

BRINGING AN OLD POST BACK.
it just got cold over here in texas and my car started freaking out one day to the next. MAP(code 3) and BARO (code13) satrted going off. my car was stumbling and stuttering. Is it because i'm still using the same fuel settings as before when it was warmer.
also mine is doing the "i hit a pot hole, CEL goes on thing"...every once in a while.
i dropped all my fuel settings to zero and it seemed to be working ok. if it goes off again then i'll switcch it off and see what happens. if its all good, i'll reconnect evrything and just use it as a vtec controller.
by the way this is in a 2000 civic si, witha b18c5 converted to obd-1, p28.
