Can a stock ITR muffler go bad??
I was running B-pipe out for a while and after finally getting annoyed with the sonic boom sounding exhaust note, I decided to put back on the rear section of my exhaust. It is now making a pretty irritating sound around 3800rpms. I double checked the bolts to make sure it wasn't rubbing from them being loose and everything is tight.
Is it possible that I blew out the innards of the muffler?

I removed them all- it's definately the rear section...
I think its either rubbing at the bolts that connect it to the b- pipe or it is the inside of the muffler housing.
If it is the connecting area then are there some rubber washers I can use or???

1. check heatshields for cracks and loose bolts
2. check exhaust pipes for cracks/leaks.. anywhere on exhaust pipes you see black spots... same exhaust buildup you see inside exhaust tip - thats where you have a leak..
3. check gaskets for leaks

Try these. Theres nothing in the muffler to actually go bad

Just remember that if you replace your muffler with another stock muffler, and you buy it from the dealer and let them do the install, it comes with a lifetime warranty that covers parts AND labor. Something to consider.
there should be a dunut gasket since it spring tension bolts, look at connection where pipe connects to muffler, see if theres any black spots around welds
