Brace urself, this turned out longer than i thought it would lol and its the short version ;o) lol but please read and don't let the length stop you.


Yea. .. about 3 weeks ago i bought an engine from this guy in Anderson SC. I saw it on ebay but then at the bottom he said he would accept $1,800 and he would end the auction. We set it up for $2000 shipped and everything and i sent him ALLLLL 2G's of it. Its been about 2 weeks since i sent payment and he said he sent it out on Thursday, September 18. He told me to expect a call from the shipping Co. within 24 hours and the engine to be here in 5-7 days. The thing is he never got my phone number so i e-mailed him and told him i hadn't got a call, he replied saying he would let the company know so they could call. I replied to that e-mail and included my phone number with it. That was on the saturday 2 days later. It is now the following saturday and 4-5 e-mails from then just trying to figure out what is going on but he will not reply. I am concerned if i am gonna actually get my engine or if i just lost 2G's in no time at all. If anybody is located in or around Anderson, SC, please let me know and i will give u the name or somthing and see if its familiar.
Also, his number is unlisted so i can't get ahold of him that way. If anybody from anywhere has any advice please send it this way, anything helps.

1st: ebay is a binding contract. report him.

2nd: how did you pay? you can usually get the money back some how... credit card, just report it to the company and they will credit your account. if it was a money order, you can report it to the post office... get your cash back... and the case will be handled as mail fraud.

 

if you made a deal with him outside of ebay, your just gona have to go there and beat your money out of him. save the emails of you making the deal with him too, you might need them. if you "buy it now'ed" the engine for $1800 than you can get him unless he's using a bogus ebay account. hows his feedback? i can pretend to want to buy the same engine and see if he tries to rip me off too, if he says he sold it then its probly on its way, ill do it if you want.

 

report it to eBay and whatever payment method you used to pay for the block

 

aight, thanks for ur guy's input... the only thing is i got it from him out side of ebay so i can't have ebay help me unless i can get them to give me some info on him to contact him. and thanks Elkins911... i didn't kno i could report money orders to the post office as a mail fraud. i'm gonna give it a little bit more time before i really do anything, just to make sure its not on its way and just arriving late or sumthing. I did save all the e-mails showing him saying that he got the money, cashed it, and sent it out tho so that should help. And for summerdumpster, you can ask him if you want, the link is

he's got 4 positive feedback... BUT one of them is for the guy that actually won the engine off ebay cuz when i told him i'd buy it for $1800, he didn't end the auction in time so sum other guy won it on ebay and gave him good feedback. so i'm hopin he didn't take both our money and send him the engine without sendin me nothin. i think i might try to get ahold of all the crate/freaight shipping companies around where he lives and see if any of them has shipped anything to my address.

thats bad if the other guy left him feedback, cause why would he do that unless he recieved the engine...

yea, the guy finally mailed me back today (week and a half and 5 e-mails later) hopefully he was just on vacation. he finally mailed me back this mornin when i checked it before goin to school. he said he'd check up on shipping and fill me in so hopefully he follows thru.
