Default Differntial Clunking...HeLp

Heres the deal. Whenever I start, especially if it is from forward to reverse, i hear a nasty klunk coming from the transmission area. It does not seem right at all. Also, looking at the engine (hood open) it really seems to "flex" when the clutch is let out to get going. How normal is that. Does anyone have any ideas. The worst part is its a 2001 GSR w/ 48212 miles on it, and warranty is up in <1800 miles away. Help !!!

Hey how hard is it to disconnect the odometer and will teh ECU have any idea it is disconnected!!!

i had a similar problem...i was backing up.and if i let the clutch out quick...a BAD clunk against the firewall....the rear motor mount(that mounts to tranny) was all to hell....(and missing a bolt) replaced it....fixed the problem..and if your motor is moving alot when looking at it...ebrake up..someone try to let the car pull it's self forward..and backward..thats bad motor mounts...

I just checked, there is still a bolt in it and it looks not to be messed up. Do you think it could still be screwed. Any other ideas ?

take it to the dealer asap. you can pull the gauge cluster and that will stop the odometer. But you'll also lose everything else.

Go now & get the claim in under the warranty. Then even if it's out of warranty by the time the dealer figures it out & fixes it, the warranty is supposed to apply.
