mugen twin loop Q?
i've been looking for spes on the twin loop for a 4dr teg. did mugen make a catback for the 4dr, also does anyone know the diameter of the piping, like the interior diameter and the outer diameter. and does anyone have a sound clip of a mugen exhaust that i could hear, that'd be great

Not true...it can fit on any DC chassis w/very little, if any work needed (depends on trim and current setup). It can fit on the DB chassis as well, just need to have an extension.
It's 2.38" ...or 60.5 mm if you like metric.

The header length determines the exhaust length, since it is all part of the exhaust system. A car with the same size header will fit the same size exhaust, chassis being equal of course.

That should help a bit.

to set the record straight - mugen makes twin loop exh. cat back for ALL tegs including 4 door tegs - sorry PHiZ
. how do I know - I purchased a cat back mugen exh. for my old 2000 4 door GSR. BEWARE - I believe in 2000+ GSR's came with a longer cat (or a longer header - not 100% positive)I am not sure about other teg trim levels. I had to wait 4 months to get the correct mid pipe to fit (after King Motorsports sent me the incorrect mid pipe 2 times - during those 4 months) I told them my car was a 2000 GSR 4 door - 1st they sent me a pre-2000 4 door mid pipe (1-2" too long) then they sent me a LS mid pipe (2 door i believe) stating its about 1-2" shorter than the pipe they originally sent - but it was shorter in the wrong section. I was not about to have a muffler shop chop an exhaust I paid over $1000.00 for so i insisted they get me the right mid pipe - they eventually did & hooked me up for my inconvenience
- search archives if you want more info on this, I believe I covered it before. BTW I love that exh. & have the twin loop on my hatch now (no more 4dr GSR
)
cheezethis is on the money on the diameter of piping
I believe the chassis is unique for 4dr ( DB8 chassis) compared to 2dr( DC2 chassis) - therefore 4dr tegs have a unique mid pipe (compared to 2dr) - the axle back section is longer than 2dr versions
quoted from slomob18b when asked about 4 door teg exh.
"Depends on what year the exhaust is for.
94-01 LS (4dr) and 00-01 GSR (4dr)cat-back exhausts are interchangeable.
94-99 GSR have different length cats making them not interchangeable with 94-01 LS
All 94-01 4dr Axle-back exhausts are interchangeable. The 2doors fit too, but the tip would not reach the end of the rear bumper."

thank you all for your helpful info, i thought that mugen did make one for the DB8 but i wasn't sure. i'm tempted to get it because i am not thrilled of the way my greddy SP sounds. i'm not expecting any performance gains from the exhaust, but from what i've heard of the mugen twin-loop it sounds nice. but i was hoping it was a 2.5 cat-back system.
Is there another really nice exhaust that is a 2.5 cat-back?
thanks again for the helpful info

Kakimoto R, forgot where to get it though. I've heard A LOT of good things about them. A lot less expensive than the Mugen paperclip.

There are some good pics of the Kakimoto R axel back. ITR guys love this exhaust. I know someone on H-T can get a hook up on Kakimoto stuff, they also have the Kakimoto GT and N1 exhausts if you want something loud.
