i wanted to do some sort of weight reduction on the car and i dont know where to start...maybe the experienced ones can enlighten me...

ive already taken out my spare and that trunk cover thing...

power steering? would that make it very difficult to drive? my car is about 4 inches off the ground...

seats? what are your opinions?

Some other things you can do is remover the tar tape under the carpet and take out that fuzzy **** on the Firewall too...for starters that is

 

ok, you're on the right track, it just depends how hardcore you wanna get.
i would advise you to keep your spare in except at the track, but that's just me.
the basic stuff to rmv is:
spare
tire kit (optional)
rear seats - bottom piece
rear seats - top + the carpeting that's attached
spare cover board (optional)
passenger seat (it's heavy and easy to rmv)
all floormats
dual 18" sub box

the next level might include:
all side panels
most of dash
all carpeting
all sound deadening material
air conditioner
power steering
stereo, speakers and all reated wiring + antenna and assembly
rear wing
rear wiper
front wipers
get lightweight drivers seat
get super light lugnuts
lighter wheels or slicks with skinnies in back
metal bumpers
replace all glass with lexan
rmv side impact beams or get fiberglass doors
CF hood
ultra light race battery
abs (???)

then you can say you're "gutted"

other tiny things are:
wiper fluid low or empty
gas below 1/4 tank
go on a diet

some of this stuff seems really really silly but as they say, it adds up. hth.
