Default My first time at the track ever. What an experience

This was a crowded day, we only get 3 runs. I was so nervous...i saw this old muscle car snap it's rear axle, i felt bad...but anyways here are my slips:
Run #1: I realized that launching on the street and at the track are different. I avoided the water box, and did a small short burn out to clean my tires off...then i dropped at like 3,500 with 33 psi on the front tires.

Run#2: Driver front tire at 25 psi, passenger front at 23...dropped at 4, i got some agressive wheel hop but surprisingly this was my fastest run till i hit the goddamn shift gate between 1st and 3rd and so i screwed that run up..but i still managed to run a 15.085...dammit that was supposed to be my best run!!!

Run#3: I was concentrating too hard on the launch i think i launced around 5 or somethuing i got sever wheel hop, and i thought i had broken into the 14s..but not to be, i got a 15.000. Come on God, stop teasing me

Now, i dont know anything about 60's and trap speeds but im told a good 60 is like 2.3 and lower? And that my trap speeds were pretty good despite 15.xxx...

any advice on launching better? i see some people are running mid 14s...

I ran full interior (w/o the spare tho)
oh yeah, i am stock except for the AEM CAI which i think i'll take sgt's advice and sell and just use the stock box w/ a kn filter

hey nbp, that's pretty good. now i don't feel so bad for running a 14.6 in my hybrid my first time out. people are going to say **** like "that sucks" or "why didn't you do this or that" and "you need...." don't worry, it's cool. you'll get it. this time around i am going to the dyno to find out where i make the most power, then set my shift light at that rpm. i was shifting way late, where i made about 120hp...oops. it's cool, good job bro

Nice trap speeds. Work on your 60ft time, drop the tire pressure a bit or get some drag radials. Most of all keep praticing.

your 60ft was good on your 2nd run, if it would have been a clean run you would have been in the 14's easy. Wheel hop is bad, try feathering the clutch a little instead of just dropping it. Its more productive and it won't hurt your car as much.
