i have a good zc tranny gearset, and i was wondering if i could put those into an old si tranny i have, making a ultra quick d series tranny. any help would be appreciated........thanks
isn't the zc tranny basically a d series tranny? besdies i though the ZC/Si hybrid tranny was putting the Si 5th gear into the ZC tranny? that way you have nice short gears for 1st-4th and then the longer 5th for highway driving?
The ZC/Si hybrid is usually the Si FD and the ZC gears for all out accel. Add in the Si 5th for slightly lower cruising rpms. And yes the ZC guts should fit into the Si case, thus eliminating the need for the intermediate shaft.

It you used all the ZC gears in an Si tranny it wouldn't be "ultra quick", it would be exactly the same being it is the same gears as before
, regardless of what casing they are stuffed in.

zc gears are shorter than si gears, but the si fd is shorter than the zc fd, so by taking zc gears and an si fd you have your ultra quick, close ratio tranny.

when using the Si final drive in the ZC transmission, you just swap out the countershaft and put the Si ring gear onto the ZC differential
