ZEX kit TPS sensor probs....help!
Yesterday, I installed a zex kit inot my 91 honda civic dx with d16z6. I followed all the directions, and on a tip from a friend, connected the Throttle position sensor to the middle of the (3) wires coming off of the throttle body, I believe the wire is green with red, but i may be wrong. Regardless, it says in the directions that you should be able to depress the throttle until it is wide open and hear the solenoid in the zex box click with the ignition turned to electical on, and the system armed. Well, there was no click...SO, does anyone know the actual color of the tps voltage output wire on my car, or what other problems may hav arrised from this install? btw, iam gettin power to the system, because the green light is on while armed, so help please if anyone knows....
Best thing to do is measure voltage coming from the wire that you have hooked up. Check to make sure the voltage varies while you move the throttle plate. If the voltage is constant you have the incorrect wire hooked up. Ive installed a few zex kits and Ive always hooked up the middle wire with no probs. Good luck!!
take the wire and tap it on the battery to see if it works. if it does, then you probably have the wrong wire or your tps is adjusted wrong/scrwed up.
splice your tps middle tps wire then provide a 12volt source. Then reset the box by pressing the little black button on the side until it starts flashing different colors. then go inside and turn on the ignition and hold the pedal all the way down for a little bit. THis lets it learn the voltage curves to decide if it at WOT! Then after that you should here the solenoid click when the ignition is on and its at WOT . If not then something is wrong with the purple box
