Default b16 axle/intermediate shaft, simple solutions?

I have no idea what tranny/axles/intermediate shaft I have, there is no stamp/sticker on the tranny. My driverside axle has been clicking on right turns for a few months now. I have read that 90 manual integra axles and intermediate shaft fits, but does it fit all the b series cable trannies? I tried putting in a 90 integra axle on the driverside, but it binds while driving straight(too long? or install error?), does that mean I have sir intermediate shaft? I have very little money but I need my axle(s) fixed. Any ideas to a simple solution that I can figure out by myself? and the dust sheilds, do I need those remove those? I am not sure if they are still there or not, its been a few months since I tried putting the 90integra axle in.

dayam axles... anyone in so-cal that can help me out in person?

You HAVE to remove the dust shields. I didnt think it was possible to get the axle nut on with the dust shields on...anyway, pull the dust shield off and see how much that helps. Remember a1, j1, s1 trannies all have the correct intermediate shaft to use with 90 integra axles.

You need to figure out what tranny you have to figure out which axles to use.

I think the 90 teg axles will work in a J1/S1 intermediate shaft. If you have a Y1 tranny the 90 teg axles will not work, somebody correct me if I'm wrong.

If your shaft is clicking on the driver side then you have the wrong drive axle in there, you will need the 88-91 integra axle I believe. I had this problem alsoo I just replaced the driver side and it fixed everything.

TRUE, but that's not always the case because I've seen trannies shipped or used with other Int. shafts.

What you need to do is look at the Int. shaft itself. To use the axles you have, it should have "SK7" stamped on it. I believe there is a difference between AUTO and MANUAL ones also.

scott: dust shields are off, i just checkd

everyone else: I dont know what tranny I have, there is no sticker, no colored stamp, all I know is I am near/at 5k rpm at 80mph, at 4800(vtec point for pr3) I am at 75mph

I returned the 90 integra axles a few months ago, I am still running on the bad axle(s)

question- can I use 90 integra manual intermediate shaft and axles on my b16 or is it limited to only a1, j1, s1 trannys?

question- if I already have a sir intermediate shaft, would I be able to use 90integra intermediate shaft and axles? I have no idea how to use/combine the 86-89 inner's with the 90 outers or whatever that combo was.... I want the cheapest route if possible, I am a poor student

And it sucks having suspension/azenis and not being able to turn

You can use a 90-93 Integra Int. Shaft on any B series tranny (a1, j1, s1, y1, ys1).

If you have the SiR Int. Shaft, just swap it out for a 90-93 Integra shaft, easy to do. Dont bother building axles, just find someone on here selling a Int. Shaft to match up with youre axles. I see them for around $50 all the time.
