If your shifter is feeling sluggish.... please read...
On my 93 accord, I have been noticing for the past several months that my shifter has been progressively getting more sluggish. It was still in drivable condition, but I wasn’t able to shift fast for anything so that killed me when trying to get on it. It wasn’t till just a couple of days ago when it completely went to mush and I couldn’t even get into first. So I took a look under the hood and noticed that my shifter cable was coming apart. Afterwards I immediately ordered a new one and $270 dollars later
,,, I received it and then installed it. O Mann, once I did that, I feat like I got a whole new tranny. The damn thing felt like a brand new car and that whole time I thought my tranny was going out.
So to put it in other words, if your ride isn’t going into gear as good as it used to, get a new set of shifter cables first cause you may be surprised..

ya, you could have...although perhaps then you'd have wound up getting everything messed up again quickly....so ya, I guess you made the right descision on going new....it's kinda hard to say
. It's kind of a high wear part though, so ya, I'd have gotten new.
