Default Black Smoke

aight guys i need alil help ......i got a h23a1 with 180k miles.......im trying to get this beast running as good as i can ....and well right now im trying to figure out how to cut down this black smoke alil bit if i can......Its generally only when i give it some good gas it blows alot of black smoke my friend tells me this means im running rich..and he doesn't know what i can do to make it cut down alil bit..anyone have any opinions on this.. thanks

Your friends correct... All though it could be a factor of many things...Check the fuel pressure, pull injectors and check for damage, and check your plugs...If your plugs are fouled it mean it's not igniting the fuel mixture and unloading the unburt gas....

I am assuming you mean out the exhaust. Right?
Do a compression test then do it again with a little oil in there. See how your rings are doing.
Do you have to add a lot of oil often?

i put new plugs in it about a month ago i still need to get new wires
