what can cause lean conditions in one cylinder?
i just pulled the plugs from my car. cylinders 1, 2, & 4 have nice, pretty plugs. cylinder 3's plug has an ugly coat of white. a month ago, i found cylinder 3's plug had a broken electrode; about half the electrode fell off and disappeared
i checked the compression on the motor at that time and got 220psi across all 4.
what can cause one cylinder to run lean?
i think we can rule out the fuel filter because that would affect all cylinders. does this sound like a bad injector?

Sometimes people say that #3 runs hotter because of the firing order and the fact that cylinders 2 and 4 fire immediately before and after (I forget the firing order) keeping that cylinder hotter than the others.
At about 85 K miles I sent my stock injectors out to have them cleaned and balanced at RC Engineering, and upon return the spec sheet said that one of them was down to something like 184 cc/min whereas the other 3 were still performing pretty much as stock in the ~238 cc/min range (that one ylinder woud definately have been running leaner than the others). dan, what's the difference between b16 injectors and b18c5? i would just go to acura and buy a new injector in the interests of motor health at the glen.

I remember someone saying that all the B series motors use the same injectors ... so that might work.

Are you coming to the Glen this weekend (mon/tues)?
haha ... because if you are I'll give you a ride in my car, you'll never forget (soil the car and your dead!)

cool, bring 'em to the glen! what did the injectors cost?
if i swap in one of your injectors and plug is clean after a day of lapping, i would just buy a new injector (assuming you want to keep yours).

I don't need the injectors.... make me a respectable offer and they are yours. The guy who traded with me had them in a 1999 ITR and he gave them to me when the car had less than 12k miles and just over a year old.
