What else do you have done besides the cams?

Toda B's = stock idle..... When tuned.

More details required. If you have no type of engine management other than the stock ecu, then that's what you will have.

If you have nothing but a stock ecu, play around with your ignition timing until you can get it to idle. I wouldn't get on it until you tune it. If you have a vafc, lean it out 10 percent at idle. If thats not enough, go to 20. If thats not enough, keep trying to lean it out more. Give that a try.

I run 'D's in my Civic motor, and the idle is a tricky thing to tune even with Hondata. If you are on a stock or even a chipped ECU, you are going to have problems. Get some programmable engine management and get it tuned by a professional.

lean out the idle with your fuel controller a bit..see if that helps. i dropped the fuel percetage about 10 percent at idle then played with the idle screw a bit....purrs like a kitten

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't D's have the same size primary lobes as the B's?

Exactly. That was my point. The idle tuning issues with 'B's are the same as 'D's. So all of the info is pertinent.

i have the Toda spec B cams, toda cam gears, toda springs, skunk retainers, port and polish, mugen head gasket. Apex i VAFC, MSD.

The car wont hold a strong idle, i messed with the timing and i am at -26% on the vafc at idle!

if the cam gears are at zero and the timing is correct, how should the car Idle?

cam gears at zero... car should idle damn near stock.

i suggest you ditch the VAFC and upgrade to a better form of fuel managment. VAFC gave me nothing but problems with my B's.... it was livable... but damn annoying. Take out at least -35 at 1000 RPM, and advance the intake cam. you may still other issues to deal with.

yes.... with the VAFC i had a fine idle... however, when the motor was decelerating to idle, when it was hot out, it wouldn't catch the idle... as if the IACV wasn't acting fast enough. PowerFC has fixed said problem for myself.

-50 here, and idle screw almost backed out all the way. 400 miles per tank and 190+whp. stock itr motor otherwise (with bolt ons). VAFC works for me.
