Did a search, didnt find the answers I was looking for.. ITR cams in stock GSR, worth it?
I'm closing in on timing belt change, 75k on the clock and I ride the car hard, previous owner didn't but i want to be on the safe side and change my belt..
I been thinking..
While I'm changing the belt, even though my plans are for boost why shouldn't I throw some ITR cams in my car? (00-01 spec) wont be that much money after selling my GSR cams..
How much HP gain am I looking at STOCK... just straight up throw in ITR cams over GSR and not change anything else (for now) 4-5whp? Maybe do some cam gear tuning, etc
Any ideas?

Just stock, you're not going to see any real gains. If you're going boost anyway, just stick with the GSR cams.
thats what I was thinking of doing with my gsr also, My brother just bought a JDM b18c5 and planning to take out the camshafts and throw in a little more aggressive cams and gears like stage 2 skunk. So I figure I should through in the stock c5 cams, If there's no gains then maybe I shouldn't even swap it out.

For you, I'd say go for it. The original poster stated that he was going boost in the future. ITR cams will make power, but you have to tune them properly, they don't just drop in. For him that'd be a waste since he's going turbo. For you it might not be a bad idea.

itr cams are great.. now just drop it into a stock gsr will notice a little gains. there will be more potenial once you start moding the car to all motor. overall i like the itr cams in my gsr. i still have a way to go before i see the potenial of the itr cams ie header itr throttle body. and ecu and TUNING. good luck.

there is a noticable difference between the ITR ans GSR cams, even stock. tuning will make it much better. it's worth it, and you don't have to upgrade your valvetrain unless you wanna go past 8100.
I have only heard good things about itr cams in stock gsr's. I know 2 people that have them in their gsr
