Rust around the hatch
My car is almost rust free but I have this spot right around the left hatchback hinge that holds it on. It makes me nervous because I dont want it to get too bad where it cant support the weight of the hatch.
I have fiberglassed my old jetski a few times to patch holes but I have never worked with body filler or anything. Has anyone else had rust in this area? I'd like to do it myself, noone can see that area anyway. I just dont want to screw it up and find out I did not fix it right.
Any advice? I dont have the car here now or I'd take pix. But it looks like the hatch may have to come off, be completely patched and then re-attached with new holes drilled in the patch job. I am just concerned about the body filler suporting the hatch.
Anyone else ever come across this?
