I think it would be a waste of time considering the minimal advantages. Tehn somedayyou could be kicking yourself for doing it because of the permanance of welding things shut. I bet the Dukes of Hazzard hated crawling over those doors all day.

I agree...may take off some weight but time + $$$ will be unnecessary for the minimal weight loss. welding can not be "unwelded" to successfully.

You wanna save some weight, just go on a godamn diet.

So you save 15lbs, who gives a ratts ***? Half these faggs that want light this and that have never even see the track.

"light" is a frickin` trend all the sudden.

My car is heavy, but I know how 2 drive

yes they do make a lightened hatch. they sell fiberglass ones, but i have no idea where you can get one. i forget right now. either that, or you can go to a race shop and have them fabricate one for you out of fiberglass or better yet Carbon fiber.

Wait...wait I gotta great suggestion...by a domestic V8...my heavy as hell 4500lbs dakota always seems to beat the **** outta imports...I'll put sandbags in the bed for more traction and beat them easier with more wieght...how about you torch you doors, hood and hatchback off...maybe then your car will be quick.
