Why do big cams benifit from higher compression?
I have heard it said in the past that big cams love high compression - and that when the compression is raised on an engine with big cams...the power is really much more noticable (then stock cams w/ high compression)
Why is this?
Why is this?
Due to the high overlap, a lot of air can get out before the valves close and
the piston compresses the mixture. higher compression can help make up for
that

Like Steve said longer duration results in lower dynamic compression so your really just making up for your losses from static compression.
