Default engine inside a hatch?

Is it physically possible to fit a ZC engine into the hatch of a 91 civic hatch? Has this been tried before? Do you think that hmotorsonline would put it in there for me?
--Thanks for your help.

Do you mean inside the car? Like to transport it? I think that may be a tight fit... getting it out is another story...

lmao.... if you're wanting to transport it, then I bet it will fit in your hatch. If you are wanting to run the ZC in your hatch (not from the hatch ) then yes it is possible.

I've seen a D15 carried inside the hatch of a CRX before. I have a coupla pics at home. The reason I know it's a D15 and I know it fits is that I put it there after I sold it to the girl She drove off with it and never came back so I assume it worked

I dont see whats not to understand?? he asks if its physically possible to put a engine in the hatch of his hatchback meaning through the back and yes transport it that way.

But to answer your question I think it would be a really tight fit but I think it would fit. As if they would put it in the back of there for you I think your best bet is too call them up and ask them. They might not though for liability reasons but that doesnt mean you couldnt bring a buddy and you guys throw it in there!!

Its easier to put it in the passenger seat, or even take out the passenger seat and put it there.

yes, I was talking about in car transportation. Sorry if I confused anyone, but that does answer my question. If I could put it in the hatch that would be better, because I might have to drive from Olympia, WA to LA, CA. This would be more fun with a friend to ride along with me, however this may not be possible with no passenger seat.
Anyone see some creative solution that I have missed?

I have a creative solution, tell your friend to ride in the back. the passengers seat is for more important things(engine). haha
it should be ok in the back tho, just make sure you stand it up, odnt want oil to go everywhere...

Seperate the tranny from the engine. Fold down the rear seats and whoola. More than enough room.

I fit a d16y8 block, two L3 trannies, a DSM SMIC, and a D16A6 intake manifold all in the hatch of my , erm, hatch

Hondas are very versatile.

Also, when swapping in my b18, I amazingly fit an engine hoist and a 48x40 pallet in the back of my car :D :D :D

you gotta put your car in sport mode (rear seats down, rear windows out) and you should be fine as long as your just talking about the block and head....you would have to take the tranie off and set it next t o it, my friend and i had 4 16" gram lights in boxes in his DX....thats all i got for a story

Just did it about 2 weeks ago. Fit right in there with the back seats still up. There was plenty of room. just be careful that it doesn't flop when you accelerate and bust the hatch glass.I put a chunk of styrofoam between the motor and my hatch.
