I'm loving the weather, and figured I'd do some maintenance with my day off today.
edit [my website downed by hurricane, and WTDR only on a couple cylinders]
Things been working on:
-New front rotors and remove front dust shields
-Axxis Ultimates (following the past week seasoning the new rotors)
-Removing rear dust shields (eventually)
-Better lighting
-Comptech Race header (soon)
-Switching to Mobil1 0w40
-Tuning!
With fall approaching what are YOUR car plans?

hey appreciate it!
yeah front dust shields came off nicely...(pardon my cell phone camera pics)
Jacking procedure:
-E-brake on
-Jack front and secure stands
-Jack back (via the loop) and scure stands
-Go back to the front and lift higher if need be

when you jack the front do you use the point in the middle (where the front comes to kind of a point)? i always use that, but somebody told me to use the little pieces sticking out on the sides of the front (not actually on the side of the car, but like to the sides of the front)... Those things didn't seem strong enough to me so i always just used the middle. which one do you think is the safest?

primarily because I roast the stock rotors from the pads overheating and melting onto the rotor surface (otherwise commonly/mistakingly referred to as "warping")
the weight difference is also considerable
Axxis Ultimates are working nicely.

for jacking use the center point under the front.

it's amazing how much work you can squeeze out of your time

that's awesome. yeah today it hit like 60/70 >> totally sunny and no humidity.
also changed out the Spark Plugs for some EF-1's I had in stock. They are definately a nice improvement.

valve adjustment is good
nice looking Comptech lip btw

hey anytime. if you search for some of user "willard" posts he likes to wrap some heat tape around a few places following the dust shield removal...I don't anticipate any issues but may wrap one cable that's exposed.
--
Craftsman $99 special that came with 2 jackstands. It's heavy and takes a couple pumps but gets the job done.

lol soon enough!
unfortunately my web host is going through a soap opera of times:
-electrical fire in building next door and power cut everywhere
-backup generators not allowed to be turned on (fire dept orders)
-offsite data backup not available
so, more pics on hold

I am doing my rotors and pads soon as they are in need of replacement and a CT winter is around the corner. I have never done it before, are there any special tools I need. The new equipment is Axxis Pads and Brembo Cross drilled/slotted rotors.
