Dealer says I need a new oil pan gasket on my low mileage '98 Gsr - $250. What's up with that? How can I tell if this on the level?

Thanks

Damn 250, the gasket runs about 14.00 from acura. Its really easy you should try it yourself.

a simple knock on the pan it could run it out of place
so here is the break down
oil pan seal $20
labor $230
best bet is to find someone to do it cheaper but not the dealer...

could also be just a loose bolt. I've seen 1 or 2 bolts on stock motors come loose.. which causes a slight leak. you might want to take a look on that first... b4 doing n e thing

Are you losing oil? If not, then you don't need it. Wait till you notice you are losing oil or see oil drops on the floor, then get it replace.
