Default Any clue how the intake cam could jump timing by 45 degrees while trying to hook up MSD

I tried to hook up the SCI MSD ing. the the car wouldn't start. I had trouble getting it to start so I tried hooking it up with the viliot and green wire instead of the white wire and it still didnt start. So then I hooked it back up stock, and it wouldn't start. After a few hours of trouble shooting I found out that the intake cam advanced 45 degrees and the exhaust and crank were lined up correct. I recorrected lined everything back up to TDC and it started up. I cant see how it would jump that many teeth. Anybody know what could of caused it?
