Why do my Spark plug wires look like this?
This is a picture of my spark plug wires, were they connect to the distributor. If you look you'll see that they are brownish. It can't be dirt I wash my engine 4 days ago. I noticed it then but finally got my digi-cam back to decided to take some pics. Is my it a probelm with mt distributor? Thanks for the help.
Its actually from washing your engine.
You see, those end parts are rubber... and constant drying and wetting will make them get worn out, which in turn causes them to brown out like that!

Dude, put some silicon on there, it will turn back to black. It's just like what happens to tires and exterior trim, it's called "bloom"...I believe it's oxidation. In any case, any kind of tire-gel/wet-look crap will make it perty again.
