Is this a B16 or B18?
Can you tell from the pictures if the engine is a B16 or a B18? The Tuner sold it as a B18. The only thing i can see from the valve cover is that it is not a USDM engine. The engraved engine code is not on the block!

I thought the PR3 is only on the pistons, were is it on the head?

There are several ways to tell 1st if you look on the top of the head on the distributor side between the two cam caps it should say 72 if it is a b18c.
2nd looking at the head just above where the exhaust manifold is, look
to the top left just below the valve cover, it should say p72.
And 3rd all gsr's (b18c) the water neck is always in front(the part where the top radiator hose connects) all b16's water necks are at the back of the head where the thermostat housing is.
And 4th the bolt pattern on the head is different.
5th the oil pan should have a p72 stamped somwhere into it.
b18c common stamp is p72
type r common stamps p73 and somtimes pr3
b16 common stamps p30 and pr3
If this Helps let me know

LOOKS like a b18c block to me
id need a better shot of the block around the header to tell u if it was a vtec block or a non vtec block.

LOL
this one its really funny
the by looking just looking at it the vtec head its always taller than the LS
and by the possition of the water spout you could tell if its b16a or b18c
and the prints on the head p30, p3 p72 or p73

i dont know where u guys are getting all of this
its a gsr head
its a b18 or b20 bottom
its a b18c block 95% sure of that
COULD be nonvtec block, but I highly doubt

Its easy to tell because of the area I circled in your image here (7mm taller deck height = B18 block):
if it was a b16, that area would be flush with the top of the tranny casing as seen here:
sounds kinda shady if the block numbers are shaved off though..

If it was a B18a, wouldn't there be an obvious oil-tap for the LS/VTEC ish?
Also , yes the cam sprockets should be stamped with the engine code...
PR3 or P72...
