Default Open Deck or Closed Deck Cylinder Block for NA / All Motor , which one is best ?

Dear all of you ,
I heard about the advantages of Open Deck compare to Closed Deck Design Cylinder Block for NA / All Motor .
Anybody can give any more DETIAL INFORMATIONS regarding this matter and I'm talking about Honda B Series Blcok that are going to Resleved to accept 85 mm High Comp Piston for all motor applications .
Some said that Closed Deck are better but some others also said that Open Deck are MUCH BETTER Especially for NA / All Motor use.
Thank you for any Informations.

GOD BLESS U

I prefer open deck. Aluminum and iron have different expansion rates and I believe that it distorts the cylinder wall when heated. I also like running the cooling system as honda intended.

I like open deck as well. For all-motor even with paper thin 86mm sleeves, you still dont need closed deck.. Open deck will keep the motor running cool and will allow you to run longer without getting hot..u can actually circuit race this motor.

the closed deck design id say is more for 1/4 mile cause of diff expansion rates in metals
circuit is better with open deck better cooling

but you can always upgrade your cooling system to suit

N/A Combustion Pressures are less than half that of Boosted Applications...Its the huge increase in Combustion Pressure that shakes and distorts the cylinders causing the headgasket to blow and cylinder pressure to leak into the cooling system...

Water Temperatures will increase with the closed deck but a larger radiator core and a well maintained cooling system will take care of the higher temperatures...

If I'm not mistaken, Papadakis his 8s in his EK Civic using an Open Deck H22...

Thank you for all the response .
But I want to have MORE TEchnical Informations behind these and Not ONLY because Closed Deck are Stronger than Open Deck .
If you take look at Newer Engines like K Series from Honda or Q Series from NISSAN , now they are all using open deck for their NA Engines .
I want to know , what's the main reason behind this and the Benefit and Advantages of the Open Deck .
I have DART Block in my hand but I still want to know whether any HONDA block that are going to Resleeved and still mantain the Honda Open Deck Design from any company such as : RS Machines or Golden Eagle will be better in Performance than the DART Block NOT ONLY because the DART Block are STRONGER .
Thank u and waiting any informations sharing from all of you

GOD BLESS U

manufactures use an open deck desing because its cheaper to produce. From whaat I have seen, once you sleeve a block, there is no need to "close the deck" unles your running an insane amount of boost

Closed Deck applications prevents distortation and tilting of the sleeves on high boost applications....On N/A motors the open deck will be fine to run...... Bisi Ezerioha ( Worlds Fastest uniboby all motor 10.0@134 ) Erick's Racing (Worlds Quickest all motor 9.9) both run the RS Machines Magnum Series open deck blocks......
