Well, Police found my R yesterday morning in West Phoenix (turns out I was followed out to Scottsdale where I live). Went to see it at the impound and I almost passed out. There's nothing left of it. It's been completely tubbed. I took some pics and I'll post them tommorow. Man, I feel so ******* violated. Worst part is the I'm being investigated by both my insurance company and the police. SOB's think I'm pulling a scam. Talk about adding insult to injury.

I don't even want to think about insurance. My policy is so new that it haasn't even been entered into their system yet. So I'm either gonna be ok, or I'm gonna get screwed.

Legally once your insurance date on your policy is activated, anything happen after that date, u are covered by them. DON'T LET THEM SCREW U OVER!
Back in 99, i just started a new company policy and my 97 ITR got totaled. They paid, of course suck market value from books.

The part that would **** me off is their accusing you of having something to do with it.that is f'd up.

 

The only thing thats good about this whole situation is that you dont have to wait at least 30 days for insurance b/c the car is totalled already. I also could see why you were questioned b/c there is just too many people pulling insurance fraud these days. Hey good luck and hopefully you dont sell out like I did.

 

They did the same thing to me when my R was stolen. I had to give them my phone records and bank records for two months leading up to the theft. Even after that, they took their sweet *** time "clearing" me of stealing my own friggin' car. After talking to some people in the know, I found out that I had legal recourse if they didn't settle with me within 3 months. When did the guy call me to settle on a price to give me? 3 months to the DAY after my R was stolen. (It was reported totalled a week after it was stolen, and they even caught the guy who did it.)

I wish you the best of luck. That really sucks. I will say that a new Type R helped make me feel a lot better after driving a neon rental around for a month...

Same here. Yeah getting it stolen sucks but I would be more worried if someone were to point a Glock on my brain, take the car, then shoot me just for the hell of it.

I saw this on the kills the other day too. What a massive bummer. I'd go nuts if someone took my car, and then to have it found in that kind of condition. Good luck with the ins company and getting everything worked out.

 

If I was you I would show the ins company where you posted this **** so the guy investigating you could feel bad for haveing to do his job

 

I was over at Metro Center (31st AVE and Dunlap) until about 11:00 visiting some friends. I got home in North Scottsdale (Hayden and Frank Lloyd Wright) at 11:30. Probably the only time I haven't speeded in my car. My roomate woke up at midnight and looked for my car to see if it was home. I had parked it outside the window but he didn't see it. I thought he was justing messing with me, but my car was gone. It was recovered by the police the next day at 3rd AVE and Glendale (about 5 miles away from where I was the night before). It had to be a pro job because they knew exactly what they were doing. The engine was taken out cleanly, they didn't take the rimes only the center caps, they didn't take the stock deck, but they even took the friggin clock. There was no broken glass, no sign of forced entry, it was as if they had the key. I can see how the police think I might have had something to do with it, but I my deductibles are set at 1000. What really pisses me off is that I found out I was being investigated by the GM of my dealership. THe police contacted him and it could have cost me my job. I really feel like hurting someone right now...

 

3rd Ave and Glendale is a strange place to dump a car. They must have just dumped it a the church there. Scary, I live at 16th St and Northern so that's about 3 miles from home. It's hard to imagine you can tow a stripped car through the middle of the city and not raise an eyebrow. Thieves suck!

 

Unfornalty my baby has not been recovered (MISSING SINCE AUG 3rd.). And the chances of them is slim to nothing. its been almost a month and nothing. Im going through insurance right now and going through claims, they will do a investigation to see it your are commiting fraud. Well it is a Type R and not a Ford Escort. I call the police station every day since it got stolen to check if the car has been recovered. and no luck. I just hope that insurance doesn't screw me or i will get really voilent, but wheni talked to my claim adjuster and they knew it was a special edition car because it has no blue blue value. im shooting for $23,000.
Im already in the market to get another car. I moved on... but for now im in the mercy of insurance co. which is expediting fast. Why so fast.. i spoke the manager and filed a complaint, can we say Better Businedd Bearu.
