Default My damn car finally runs!!! It was a portflow head problem:(

I couldn't believe why my car wouldn't stay running all this time. My mechanic who is a god found the problem today. He told me that Portflow had overtighetend the valves and they were too stiff, hence making the car run like ****. After readjusting the valves the car ran great. I could believe it was this problem after all the **** I thought it could have been. I'm going to contact TOM today and see what he has to say.

Thanks for all of your guys help it was much appreciated. I will post some pics of the work and the b16a in the car.

Peace and thanks again

Portflow did your valve adjustment? I didn't think they worked on cars

It was a brand new head from PORTFLOW with the works.

I'm not sure Tom is to blame...after p&p, and reinstalling the valve springs, retainers, etc back into the head, the machine shop stops there. Whatever the valve lash were set when you send the head to him, that's where he would leave it. Tom have no way of knowing what cams you'll be running and the valve lash would be specific to the cam you'll be running. It is plausible that during the assemble, that the lashes became loose and he retighten them down. But I think any one would and should check the valve lash once you put the head back on the block. So to Tom's defense, it is not his fault.

Yes I talked to Tom and found out I was the ******* who forgot to readjust my valves after I out my head back on. I guess you live and learn, once again TOM IS DA MAN.

Thats what I thought. I wasn't sure if I was missing out on a Portflow spec valve adjustment.
