Where to purchase Type R aftermarket parts in Canada
Hey all,
I have had the R now for three years, autocrossing quite abit in that time, and recently completed my first lapping sessionlast weekend...truly an amazing car. Unfortunately, my clutch went this week and I think I want to look at upgrading it and other parts of my car.
My immediate goals are purchasing the clutch, a lightened fly wheel, & perhaps a new higher final drive.
After spending the day using the all powerful search function for the above components I have decided on the Exedy Organic clutch, Fidanza or Clutchmasters Flywheel, & if the price is right, a JDM or ATS final drive. I think these parts are a good compromise between performance, quality, & value.
I have seen a ton of places to purchase out of the USA, but obviously not as many in Canada. Can anyone recommend reputible dealers in Canada, to get these parts and other performance parts. at a decent price?
Thanks in advance

You can always order the stuff from the states. However, you have to be careful as the final cost may be more than local due to shipping and duties.

aj-racing is the best place. they specialize in hondas. but where in canada r u from aj-racing in richmond bc
I'm in Edmonton, Alberta. Seemed like like there was a trend in the responses so I called A&J and talked to Alan. He offered me the JUN chromemoly flywheel for $500 CAN. He recommended it over the Aluminum flywheels, for autocross/road racing. I'm not to keen on the JUN, because after using the H-T search function again, I found starter issues. I'm not sure if JUN has resolved the problem, but it still gives me a bad feeling which tells me I should avoid the product.
Toda seems to be the flywheel of choice..but it's damn expensive. Any ideas on who the toda rep is in Canada? Also, any decent choices for flywheels that I can procure locally?
Thanks again

Hey man, i am from edmonton too. You are doing the same mods shane had just done(97 itr) and they had helped them out greatly.
Anyways stop by Pe-tuning group, thats where i picked up my spoon organic disc, spoon flywheel, spoon pressure plate and had my JDM fd done there too.

Hey, aren't you Greg? guy with the other PY ITR at the autoX?
I thought all Shane had done was the intake and the coilovers...Are you sure he touched his tranny as well?
I just brought the JDM FD at A&J racing...After reading the forums over the last three years, I once again thank the H-T members...The guys in this forum proved again that they know their stuff. I dealt with Alan at A&J. No nonsense, No BS...Just decent service. I tried to get ahold of James at PE Tuning, but no one picked up the phone. Oh well try them next time.
I also got what seems like a good deal on an ACT Prolite Flywheel from JB's in town. Selling for $340 CAN (~250 USD). I wanted to get a Toda, but it's twice the price...I just cant justify it. Anyone got any reviews on the ACT Prolite Flywheel...not too many results under search? Hopefully, no starter issues like the Spoon or Jun...at least from what I have read on the forums.
Thanks
David
