crx or civic, civics have stock mounts right above the back seat in the hatch. two out of the three of mine have or have had them
crxs have them right by the back hatch cover might need a dremel for those

OK you might not have the mounts if thats the case go to the junkyard or even the Honda dealer and see if they can get them for you. my 84 and 85 CRX's had everything for rear speakers (wires, grill) but I didnt have the brackets either so I went to the junkyard and picked up a set of brackets. Or if your feeling creative try making a set?? But there is a place for you to put them in the rear.

They can depending on the year and model. 88-91 CRX's can fit 6.5" in the doors you just have to make sure that they arent too deep otherwise they will hit the window.

i havn't opened up the door panel on my hatch, but i know on eg's there is a plastic bracket that holds the speaker, it wasn't deep enough, so me and my dad just sawed it out, it fit fine, i dont know if ef's have them so.... ill find out later when i get a new cd player and speakers

just want some opinions since i have the opertunity
what kind of speakers do you prefer, im not a sub woofer kinda guy i like speakers in the stock location, but i want quality, i had a set of kenwoods last time, they were pretty nice, not enough bass capabilitys though

just opinions that's all i want

I found little spacers that can go between the speakers and the door panel, it will let your windows close - picked these up at a junk yard, not sure if they come stock or what

I forgot the guys name, but he makes some nice custom speaker brackets for the back. There made out of aluminum and work great, and last time I talk to him he was doing it for free .

Well actually those in my pic are black just dont look it cause of the sun and crap.

As for it being a factory option it should have been?? I mean unless it didnt have a radio in it at all cause usually the rears are the hard ones to find since a al ot of them didnt come with rear speakers which means no speaker brackets back there.

I think if you went to the junkyard and only 1 out of the 5 had them I would assume they were already taken out unless you were looking in cars that never had a radio possibly?? BUT then again to have 4 out 5 of cars that had no radio is less likely.

The speakers go on each of the side panels behind the passenger side and driver side seats. they all will most likely have the cloth material over the speaker covers themselves. I will try to get a pic for you.

Sorry cant find a pic but if you look in the back of your car right behind the seat you will see a panel covered with felt with 2 screws on the side take that off and thats where the speakers go.
