act pressure plate looks like its rebuilt?
i ordered a act clutch kit. i was looking at the pressure plate and it looks like its been rebuilt. there are bolt marks on the pressure plate but the springs look brand new. and it also has an act sticker on it. did anyone notice this on your pressure plate?

yeah, this guy i knows went through the exact same thing. is yours the heavy duty pressure plate? if so, that is what he has. he had the person who he purchased it from call act and they said it looks that way because it is heat tempered under extreme temperatures.

The bolt marks on your pressure plate is actually the drill hitting the pressure plate. ACT drills material off the pressure plate to balance the pressure plate. Sometimes they have to drill it all the way thru the pressure plate and the drill make contact marking the pressure plate with circle marks. Giving the look that it looks used. I assure you that ACT use brand parts when the manufacture the parts. However, if the mounting holes have bolt marks not the balancing holes then your pressure plate was mounted. You need to speak to the people you purchase your clutch. I hope this helps.

ACT just takes stock pressure plates and modifies them to their specs. The only performance clutch company that makes clutches using all their own parts is exedy.
