apparently this is used for the driver to see how close they are to other cars? anyone seen this before and if so anybody have any idea of its value $?

seen it before, don't know how much its worth if anything because noone likes them.

i'm just wondering cause the Sir bumper i'm thinking about getting has it on there and personally i think it looks disgusting and want it removed...but maybe some JDM enthusiasts would be interested?

 

you don't know what you got man... if you don't want it i know plenty of peeps that do.. i got one myself i seen them go for like $50.00 keep it you get props for that..

 

mabye ill get lucky and get one w/my front end swap.

I saw those on a lot of cars when I went to Japan. There come in different color lights too. I saw green, blue, purple, yellow, amber, and clear. I don't know if there is a significance behind the different colors or just personal preferences. I thought about getting a couple while I was there.

 

It's just a trend over there in asia. I prefer not having one. Looks tacky.

I personal think there ugly, but I'm sure you could get some money from it. I also think if you really needed it to park, then you should not be driving anyways. And I could only imagine how long it would take for some punk to walk by and rip it off, unless it retracts in when you shut your car off or press a button.

Actually it does retract into the bumper. I think they are pointless as well especially since it would end up being on the wrong side of the car!! Its there so they know where there front well to them passenger side ends. So basically what you see on Semi's is what that is.

 

Well if u are going to get one U need to have a USDM bumper to drill out and also wire it up and put a switch on the dash.

 

as an aware driver i merely listen to the sounds of the road to calculate how close i am to other cars...dull thud means i'm just right....muffled crunch means i've gone to far.

and for the sides i use curb feelers obviously, they match chrome mudguards perfectly. so you can see why i would have no use for such an item.

 

Most people in Japan just toss them... really who needs one of those except old ladies?

I sold one of these to someone on Honda-Tech for $50 bucks and had people begging to pay more after i had sold it...

Its basically a small "power antenna" that with a switch goes up and down...when its in the up position it has a green light at the end of it that lights up

 

i wouldnt rock one of those

hey i just got the word of this new pole thingy? do i need it? NO! does it look good?NO! but if its "JDM" i better buy it, learn how to use it, and get use to the way it looks .......hahahaha...... ^^^^people once again takin the "jdm" thing way too far^^^^

 

my grandpa has those on the front of his minivan...

...he needs them on the back though.

Not to BAG. But if i saw someone driving around with that thing on their car, Id laugh at them for trying too hard. There are certain things that should be left in the land of the sun! This is definately one of them!

 

wasn't there some guy on here stressing about getting a JDM road flare for is hatch and the interior clip for it? see to some people its the littlest crap that makes them happy.

i guess you can slap whatever the hell you want on your car and if itmakes you proud then its alright by me.
