Im about to buy a D16z6 for my CRX. The guy says the motor has 150k on the motor, he says it doesnt burn any oil but smokes a little. I could probly get a good price on it but i dont wanna have to rebuild that **** a couple months after i install it. Plus i want a strong running motor. What do you guys think? Thanks alot

why does it smoke if it doesn't burn oil or already has a head gasket problem

get it and rebuild it.... will last u a lot more miles.....

i think a 100 will be good. sounds like hes tryin to downplay the problem also if he says it doesnt burn oil but it smokes. if you buy it youll probably have a lot of problems with it down the road. if you dont rebuild it.

 

Maybe it burns coolant. Did he happen to mention what colour the smoke was?

 

Z6s aren't exactly rare. Find someone who got an engine swap in their EG and buy their old engine from them.

 

if it smokes a potential problem is in the future!
