Default B20 Vtec

Hey everyone i'm new to the honda tech forums... but my friend has been telling me about them for a while so I signed up... but anyways.. my question is: I am about to Vtec my b20 and I was wondering what is all needed to do so... I know I need a ecu, vtec head of choice, head gasket... I was wondering anything else... also assuming the head is complete i.e. distributor, etc. So if someone could fill me in to see what i'm missing it would help... Thanks

ok...first of all, you'll need a VTEC head, a B16 head is the best choice if you're in a budget. you'll also need a VTEC oil line for the head so that means you'll have to tap the head for the oil line. you'll need a chipped p28 for sure...program on the ecu depends if you have $$$ left over after the build. i'd go with hondata...they work great. you'll want to use an ITR intake manifold with some aftermarket injectors. depending on what you want to do with the car, i'd go with 11.5:1 compression pistons...great for pump gas. for transmission, i'd use a B16 tranny with an LSD if possible. if not, a regular b16 tranny would work just fine. depending on the chassis you use, you would have to get a hydro for the 92-95 EG chassis and a cable tranny for the 89-91 chassis. i don't consider myself an expert on this build up but this is my experience with CRVtec's from my friends who have this setup here in socal.

alamogordo huh....wasn't that where they blew up the first a-bomb??? that's some scary ****... i was a physics major in college and did research in los alamos for my master's thesis
