Ok I know we arent taking the easy road but I have nearly all the parts and my dad is set on this swap. We have basically a frankenstein setup. 2k d16y5 motor, 97 ex tranny, 98 lx harness, and 99 ex ecu. It seems aparent that I have to weld the mounts into the right place because they dont seem to line up at all. But it also seems like theres going to be a fitment issue concerning the tranny and the passenger tie rod. Ive already cut out the battery tray as it will be moved to the trunk. can anyone shed some light on this? BTW no need to mention wiring..... I know its going to be a pain. Also replys like "why not just go with(fill in the blank) will be ignored.
what is a D16y5. it should mount right up sicne its D series. the 97 ex tranny will be abitch though. it has a hydro clutch. also the harness wont plug into your car. and the ecu wont plug into your harness without a obd0-obd1 then obd1-obd2 conversion harness(can you even do that?) my advice is think this one through and do research before you do anything to your car.

the harness and ecu connect fine. The harness wont connect into the drivers side connectors but they can be rewired. I have all the wiring schematics and have that figured out. But yeah the mounts dont seem right. and the fitment issue concerned me.
Good luck.
The tranny you are using is from a hydro clutch car. The mount is the LEAST of your worries. You will also have make the hydro system work in your car. You can either fab the 92+ pedal assembly into your car OR you can make an adaptor like the one Hasport offers for B-series cable to hydro.
If you can figure out how to make that clutch work, then all you need to do is make the tranny fit and weld a couple mounts in.
