EGR code on Prelude hybrid....
JDM prelude motor in 95 civic. JDM ecu. Getting code 12. Wired up the main egr sensor by the vtec solenoid and am still getting the code. I do not have anything else hooked up to the egr solenoid, the vacuum line is just open. I don't have any of the egr stuff that mounts by the drivers side shock tower on a prelude.
How can I get rid of this code? Chipped ecu? hook the vacuum line up to a vacuum source? Run a gsr ecu with a vafc to raise vtec X?
Looking for the best option.
Thanks
KJ

Hey wassup i had the same problem, but its an easy fix, if your ecu is true JDM what you can do is unplug the 3 wire connector into the EGR and forget about it. The JDM ecu will throw a code if its wired up because its tell the ECU that the EGR solenoid is working. But the thing is the JDM ECU is not dependent on it so if you unplug and reset your ecu it will think that it isnt there and forgets about it.
Well, that is what I did at first but it coded so I wired it up and it still coded. Guess the ecu in a non JDm, but there is still a speed limiter on it, it was tested. Weird?
if you hook up the vacume line the code will go away. if your plan is to disable it, just put a piece of sheet metal inbetween the egr, and the itm. hook everything back up. no egr, no code
