The main reason why:
i've had a brand new set of mugen mounts laying around for a few months now but have not gotten around to installing them until today. I was dreading having to fight with the rear tranny mount, but as you can see from the above pic i had no choice. I also had a Hondata intake manifold gasket lying around for awhile...couldn't justify pulling the manifold just to install a damn gasket. So today, i decided to kill two birds with one stone, by pulling the intake manifold, it allowed much easier access to the rear tranny mount.
10 hours, 5 new motors mounts, and 1 new gasket later...i go for a test drive.
Woot! the car felt so good again, everything feels so crisp and solid
as for the new Hodata gasket, didn't notice any difference
PS...how come nobody told me the JDM Aluminum AC mount doesn't alllow you to re-mount your compressor without tapping in new threads and drilling a new hole for the tiny tensioner???
what a disappointment...
anybody want to buy a brand new aluminum AC mount

Also if I remember right the Bolt holes won't fit an Integra's AC Compressor but a Civics will fit. Or was it Vice Versa? I'd have to check.
Mugen mounts are Nicey

there is no in creased vibration at all at any speeds...
i'd say they are the middle ground between the stock mounts and those with ES urethane inserts

Do you have any cluseups of just the mounts? Or can you take a pic or two of the mounts up close installed on your car?
I've only heard about these mounts, never seen them installed or up close. Are they vacum filled or solid rubber?
BTW I'll take the aluminum A/C mount off your hands.

I've had the Mugen mounts in the car since the turbo war finished and on the street the last few months, somehow it seems the stock mounts with the ES inserts might have been stiffer (since there's none of the telltale vibration at idle), also it seems the ES inserts might not fit in the upper Mugen Mounts (I"ll have to ask Steve on that one).

they look just like the stock mounts...
to my rudimentary touch,
i'd say they are solid rubber, much harder than the stock mounts i replaced

Since I am still a newbie on somethings...
Is installing the whole mount much harder than just installing inserts? Or is it just the same thing?

the only mount thats a ROYAL PAIN IN THE *** is the rear tranny mount
doesn't matter whether you replacing it or doing inserts...
all the other mounts are a breeze
