Default sohc v-tech, can I use an ECU from an automatic?

I want to do a swap, found a car with a sohc v-tech engine and auto tranny. can I still use the ecu from it? I would think I could, and am willing to try and see, but I wanted to know if anyone has had any success or failure with it.

yes you may use a pcm from a auto as it has a seperate computer for the transmision.

another tip is to stop spelling VTEC..... V-Tech. some may roast you for it.

If the ECU is OBD1 you can have it re-programed for a 5sp.
Search in members list for katman or kenji.
