does anyone with a b18b have this manifold. i believe this is goin to be the next purchase of mine in the next few days. i am also goin to pick up some cam gears. i believe i am goin to go with some aem cam gears, but can anyone recommend some good cam gears that are priced like the aem cam gears. i am payin $206 plus shipping for the gears and $295 shipped for the manifold, both are new.

ok well are they priced about the same as the aem ones i am getting. but the main thing here is the manifold. i need to know how it fit? if it is different from the b18a mainfold? is there any drilling or taping necessary?

Isn't it just straight-up 'edelbrock' now?
...Just curious.

why not go for skunk2 cam gears?........everyone seems to really like those....
personally i have Crower cam gears........there are sweet......cost a little more but are worth it in my opinion........
the AEM gears will probably be OK. but after a few adjustments the cheap aluminum adjusting bolts wear out and make it hard to adjust again........i had this happen to my original set of AEM gears.......

Heard from a lot of people its a bitch on an LS... You'll most likely need washers to make it fit properly. Do a search on here for some threads that cover it better, try the FI forum.

I installed the Skunk2 intake manifold on my 95LS.
You dont really need any extra parts. You will however .. have to plug a water outlit on the manifold .. and Bend the throttle cable support ... and zippy tie a hose somewhere else cause it no longer has a mount.
Also, im not sure why anyone hasnt mentioned this to you ... but you will get VERY minute gains adding the Skunk2 manifold with stock LS cams. Yes you do need cam gears ... but you also need a more aggressive cam that makes more air flow into the combustion chamber.
You will also notice a little whistle sound at a certain RPM and up ....this is a sound the intake manifold now makes. If you would like to reduce the sound and make the airflow a little better ... you need to have your LS throttle body (58mm) bored out to the max (4mm over) which would make it (62mm) then butt it back up to the intake manifold (64mm inlet)
Are you really considering AEM cam gears?!
Cam gear failure can potentially destroy your valvetrain. Why be cheap with such a critical component?!
I just don't understand trusting your valvetrain to pieces that are known to fail.
There is no reason to save $$$ on cam gears when their failure requires $$$$ to repair. (Price Including the price of the skunk2 gears you should hae bought in the first place).

thanks for all the input. and no, no one had said anything about cams. but i also dont think i will need cams since i dont plan on going all motor but i do plan on gettting a turbo. i talked to some of the fi guys and they said that the skunk2 mani was a good one to have for a turbo. and i also dont plan on having huge gains with this mod but it is a plan for the future.

Why even bother with a Skunk2 IM before you are turbo? An IM should be one of the last mods that you make to your turboed Honda. You are adding things you don't need, and are just prolonging the time until you make some real power with a turbo setup. Do some research, this sounds like an impulse buy.

he is right, every set of aem cam gears i have put on, the back of the bolts hit the inner cover, sounds horrible, plus a friend had the bolts come out and tear up his valve cover, not to mention the slippage factor with only 3 bolts holding it...i have had skunk2's for a couple years, and they are problem free

actually its not an impulse buy. if it was then i would have already bought it. the thing is i am paying off my car right now to the bank through my parents (they co-signed). i have an income that is not exactly legal (i get paid under the table at one of my jobs). and my mom said that it is not good for me to pay more of my loan off then i make from my real job per month. so i have all this left over money. and my parents said i can do anything i want to the car but i cant turbo it til i pay it off, which is sometime next year probably. so i am doing as much as i can to prep for the turbo installment. so dont question what i am doing to my car. and the topic says how was the installment not why i should or should not put this on my car.

Stop with the attitude kid... I'm giving you pearls here. You're wasting your money, and if you keep buying stuff you don't need I highly doubt you will ever be boosted. I see kids like you all the time... but hey, you know everything right? If you don't wanna see tail lights for ever, start buying actual turbo related parts, EMS, injectors, etc...

sorry to say this but im not a kid. im a full time student that has two jobs. one is just under the table. i have my parents to thank for supporting me with this car. if it was not for them i would not have this car. i probably have the shittiest credit for a 21 year old. yes you might see alot of dreamers but im not one of them. i do most of the work to my car on my own or i have a friend that works at honda to do it. im just trying to buy good quality parts for my car before i boost it(this is why i am going with skunk2 cam gears instead of aem). also im not looking to boost the hell out of my car but i would like to get about 225-250 whp from my car. so dont come at me on my thread and try to tell me what to buy when i dont ask for that aspect. keep to the topic. this is the reason alot of people are afraid to ask questions on here is because of people like you.
so if anyone has something helpful to say then please be my guest. i have recieved some very helpful input on how to install the mani and how to connect the throttle cable. thanks to those that are helpful.
