<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">I wouldn't drop an H22 in if you are autocrossing since it is about 70-100 lb heavier than the B18's. The front/rear weight distribution is too biased to the front and would make cornering more difficult (understeer). No question, the H22 would be fast in a straight line. You have to relocate the AC, use aftermarket 91-93 Integra driveshafts, use a Hasport mount kit, use an H22 tranny only and the ECU/VTEC harness, and ensure the engine is intalled with enough clearance for the IM so that it does not hit the firewall and the driveshafts sit at the same angle as the stock setup.</TD></TR></TABLE>

thats from michael delaney in a post from TI...sounds like ure gonna need to get a good front suspension for the added weight...or get a CF hood to help compensate

actually, jeff652 has an h22 in his car, and used to have an itr in his 95 civic... he weighed them both in to find out the h22 is about 40 lbs heaver in total... I think this myth of 80-100 lbs heavier needs to be throw out the window.

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=183552 Been there, done that well over a year ago. Since then, I've done more road racing and auto-xing with H22 Civics with better suspension setups, and it's a killer setup.

For those who say "don't do it," ask them if they have ever driven a H22 Civic before and have had first hand experience with it on a road course or race track. It's well worth it IMO, but everyone has their own opinions.

If you want power you'd end up spending more on an H22, tranny and axles.. then making it fast, than you would on a kick *** turbo kit, lsd, and hondata. Just my .02

But if you want to do an H22 swap into a 3g teg you need pretty much everything including linkage.

it all depends on what you want to do...i put the H22 in my teg because of all these people that said it was stupid, will handle like ****, would be slow, more expensive than just putting a gsr in there...but i proved them wrong, and love every minute of driving that car...

Actually, when I had a turbo B20 setup (stock motor, GSR tranny, DRAG 3 ITR kit), I ended up close to paying double on that setup than my H22 setup... but this was almost 3 years ago also. Also, the turbo B20 setup was much faster than the all motor H22, but it's all a mater of opinion on what you would like better for your car.

But if you were to take the money you spent on an H22 swap + mods and put it into a turbo instead. How much power would you be cranking over your H22? I'd say at LEAST 50hp more than a H22 swap.

true, but my motor bone stock has more potentail than any other honda motor...

what other honda motor can you put a 100 shot on with EVERYTHING BONE stock on the car except i/h/e...and put half a dozen bottles through it...

what other honda motor will crank out 310+ whp with a turbo and 9 psi, without any tuning...

i am not saying to get the h22, i am saying go the route you want to...if you wanna go turbo, get a turbo motor (LS) if you wanna go all-motor, get a all-motor engine(many conbinations ls/vtec, crvtec, b18c..) if you want some MAD POWER, which one do you go with... good 'ole h series

In the long run I would go with an H22... It's a 200 hp motor that can be had for roughly 2500. You get decent power and save a grip of cash and still have honda reliability
