my crx doesn't crank..
i just swaped a sohc v-tec into my crx and hooked everything up the way it was. but now the car wont start its not even cranking. i found oil in the wire harness that plug to the distributor. does anyone know if that could be the reason for it not crank or if not does anyone know what kindda problems would make the car not crank.
Not cranking is a starter problem:
Here are the usual causes:
clutch swtich not hooked up properly
starter is toast
solenoid wire isnt connected properly
Here is what I`m betting: You have an 88 crx, it doesnt have a cltuch swtich, you`ve just swapped in a motor SOHC VTEC, which had a clutch switch. You didnt short out the clutch switch wires when you did the install...Consequently, the engine `thinks`the clutch is out, so it doesnt crank. This is just a guess tho
