yes i searched. no help. im swapping a 00 si b16a2 into a 96 ex coupe. now let me know if i have everything right. use the si's rear engine mount-the ex wiring harness- and im good? or am i missing something. the wiring seems too easy. is there sometihing i need to do to the harness or does it plug in true? also what about axles and linkage? si's or ex's? please help. i dont want to get it half done then get stumpped. thanks

 

use your ex harness and just extend neccesary sensors, i think i extended 7-8. also on your crank sensor ,the ex is 3 wire, si is 2,.just match up the same colored wires together.i would suggest soldering all connections as well , about axles and linkage use the si stuff.also i suggest using the ac mount, some people say no but unless you want a sloppy feeling use it.that should give you a code free swap.later

Unfortunately, that is about as easy as it gets. I would also recommend, when pulling off the plugs from the Y8 engine, to label them where they go for easier referance when putting it on to the B16.

I second that, especially if it's your first swap. It can get very discouraging trying to figure what and where with the plugs without labeling them. Many are close together and the same plug type and it's easy to get them confused.

 

fortunately i have a couple of swaps under my belt but have never had to extend wires and im not too fond of that idea. too much work i appreciate your help a lot. time to come up with an estimate on labor

 

also i was right on the mounts correct? use the ex uppers and tranny mounts and the si's rear mount? or just use all the si's mounts?

Extension of wires is easy as hell. Just make sure the connections are secure and solderred, and you should be worry-free.

It just depends on how the engine harness is placed and moved around onto the motor.
