Default OT: Bike or Turbo?

I'm having a hard time deciding if I want to build a turbo motor or just buy a motorcycle. Not sure if it's worth putting about $10g's into my crx. Any opinions?

Debating the same thing.. I decided to go with the bike and to do a nice light rebuild (compression + cams) on my LS and use it for road racing.. Bikes area stress reliever for me though.. Fast Hondas arent (they are stress)

I've owned 2 Sportbikes and now have a Civic which i'm working on. There is NO WAY a car can compare to the sheer joy I felt when riding. I really miss it...
I would say get a bike, just be careful and wear some gear, please wear some gear.

i have owned 2 turbo hondas(10 & 11 second cars) and two sportbikes(99 gsxr750 & 99 R1). although the bikes were funner at some points, they are 1000% more dangerous. especially depending on who you ride with, how you ride, and how many police chase you . along with being in NOVA/DC, but seriously, although i enjoyed that part of my life, the cars have been better for me in the long run. go with the car.

seriously. i would drive to work very cautiously without a jacket in the summer, but i ALWAYS wore leather/kevlar gloves and jeans. even though i had 10+ years riding experience at the time, the drivers around here are retards. riding ANYWHERE else, i always had my vanson leather on me. always.

i have a bike and a turbo ls. you really could do both for 10k. exspecailly if you're a new rider. i did both for about 7.5-8k i have turbo ls and ninja 600. the bike is more fun, but more dangerous. if your a new rider don't spend 10k on a bike, it will only get ruined. buy a decent starter bike like a cbr f2/f3 or a yzf600r. you really don't need a 1000cc bikeor an r6 for that matter, which i'm assuming thats what you want if your going to spend 10k. 600c is more than enough power for a new rider. most say to start even lower like a 250 or 500. well my opinion get both just go mild on the bike, and wear your gear. dead people can't ride motorcycles, nor can they drive turbo hondas

I'm putting the turbo on my car as we speak... After that is done, since I have quit smoking, i'm taking the money I spent on smoking, and putting it towards a bike... A guy I work with is selling me his 1993 Harley Davidson Sportster next spring when I'm ready...

if you really love your car then you'll turbo it.

I look at bikes like a kiddie sort of fun.
its real.. pure.. fun, your sitting on a crotch rocket jetting around alover the place.

and with that said.. I have no intention of ever getting a bike.

because I love CARS and want a sweet CAR,
imparticularly my civic hatch.

the way I look at it, if your even thinking about the bike.. then you shouldnt rep your car, cuz you probly dont really love it.

HOWEVER, I do agree about the danger factor for bikes... so I have to advise against them

Be smart & do both!

You definately do not need 10K to do either and if you are mechanicaly adept then you can do both and have twice the fun.

I don't think your going to find ANYONE that has actually ridden a bike, tell you that their turbo honda was more "FUN".

However you can pick up groceries and drive in the rain while listening to your stereo in a turbo CRX, you cannot do these things on a street bike.

Although you CAN pick up ladies & drive them back to your place just by asking "you wanna go for a ride?" Again you cannot do these things in a turbo Honda.

go half and half . a turbo kit is only like 3 thou, keeping it in low boost on stock internals and then get urself a used bike. i dont see why you cant do both.

Get the 04 r1! 180hp and 390lbs, great begginer bike! HA! If you are serious about learning to ride a sportbike I would get a mid 90s 600, and take some courses on the track with instructors, this will teach you how to really ride, and do so well. After a few lessons I guarantee you will be better then the good majority of riders on the road, after you ride a track the street is boring. Have fun and be safe.

I would have said bike untill a week ago... But its no fun at all when you realize theres nothing but pavement to soften your fall.

Some motorcycle salesman told me...its not IF you wreck, Its when you wreck.

I dont know anyone that hasnt layed one down

this is true. thats why money is no object when it comes to quality gear.

turbocharging a streetbike

A turbo bike is prolly 10x more dangerous than a already danerous n/a street bike. If want more power get a bigger bike.

And the to answer the first question. I'd get a bike and turbo the car later

No matter what, there is no feeling like riding a bike. I have a turbo car, and have been other really fast cars, but there is nothing like a bike. As long as you are smart about riding, you will not regret buying a bike.

Just remember with a bike, no matter how skilled of a rider you are, there will always be stupid drivers on the road and that's all it takes. Be careful

Well if I were to go turbo it would be a gsr block, b16 head sc63 build. Then add suspention and dyno time and there goes 10g's. And if I were to get a bike I would get a 99-00 R1, or 01, gixxer 750. Or I can just pay monthy for the bike and build my turbo set up. I must say I got a ride in autoexturbo's car and it's scary fast.
