Default 16x7, +43mm wheel with 215/45/16 tires, will this rub?

I'm currently running 215/40/16 without any problem.. But thinking about switching to 45 series tires next time around. I heard some had problem with the front rubbing.. Anyone?

Not sure. I'm running 205/45/16 and have had no problems so far. Hopefully someone can answer as I have been thinking about 215's.

nah, you won't have a problem rubbing. i'm running 215/40/16's as well, but on a 16x7.5" rim (43mm offset), and i don't rub....i'm thinking of going to a 215/45/16 as well.

Those 40 series tires and coilover is just killing me, I mean my stomach.. But it sure looks good when my girl's chest bounce up and down....

yeah, riiiiight.

the 40 series tires are a bit rough, yes. but, think of the steering response . . .

what tires are you running, out of curiousity?

T1-S.. Even with the softer than stock sidewall, it's still a bit rough. But those are great street tires...

With the Falken Azenis 215-45/16 at full lock I have a very slight rub on the inner fender liner...they are mounted on Mugen MF-10's with a 43mm offset.

RP,

I don't think 40>45 series switch will make THAT much difference in your ride. If you really wanna wimp out, you could change to softer springs on your Zeals

hahha, maybe it's just my imagination bouncin... Yes, I'm thinking about those Falkens.

Kengs: wouldn't softer springs defeat the whole purpose of getting aftermarket suspension?

TRP:
what's the springs rates on your sus?

sp00n is claiming 18K F / 16K R is their street spec sus. But that sounds alot like race spec to me

Still stock suspension, the larger tires give it an optical illusion of being lowered...see the picture of my dirty car below. It is under braking, so it is not the best of depictions.

ditto.

i am running 215/45/16 advan tnr045's on a 16x7 regamaster evo wheel with a 45pcd offset, almost 2" drop. it rubs in full lock on the inside front, which went away when i corrected the camber to something more positive. i cannot comment on the rear because the fender lip is rolled...

Yoshi,

RP is running 12k/8k, same as me.

Ben,

Do you know if the TNR045 has been discontinued? I ended up ordering a set of DNA GPs.

18k F and 16k R is way too stiff for street... I was going to run 10k at the rear but dind't want to risk it with the streets we have here... I'm happy with my 12/8 setup.
