Default Is 11 pounds difference pre wheel/tire combo worth upgrading?

My current 15" wheels/tires weight 35 pounds. A set of 1992 gsr with rubber are 24 pounds each.

Will these 11 pounds per wheel help my in the quater mile?

Nick

35 pounds for tire and wheel. not just the wheel. And I did get the 24 pound GSR wheel/tire setup. I like it. its a lot more tire that I like, but for 44 pounds total. I can live with it.

Yes it would be worth the upgrade! You will notice a big difference.

Unsprung weight is the worst.

maybe, the wheel weights website claims its a 15.5 lb. wheel so that makes it a 9 pound tire. does that sound incorrect? But yes the tires are low on tread.

9lbs for a tire is pretty hard to believe, tires are usually 15 or so

yea I'm looking up the tire weight.

Volk TE37 15 x 7 Forged 9.2lb ... yea maybe his scale is off. he wieghted them.

I've found "Yokahama AVS ES100 = 24.4 pounds" of unknown size from http://forums.nasioc.com/forum....html .

So something is not adding up. I'm gonna grab the my scale and weight them.
