GSR Idle Sound..?
I dunno, but my car seems to sound pretty crappy. I took some videos to see if you guys could figure out what the problem is.
It is a 1996 GS-R with 74k miles.
Belt
Over Hood
Inside Car
Revving
Under Hood
Under Hood #2

what mods do you have? I hear a little bit of ticking in your idle. When's the last time you got a Valve Adjustment?
My idle sounded pretty bad too, but once I got a valve adjustment, it sounded a helluva lot better.

Dude - have no idea...but it doesn't sound good at all. Double post this in the technical forum so someone can point you in the right direction. It sounds like an old buick or something... that is definitely more than just valves...Honda's naturally have a tick tick tick purr to them.

damnit.. i hope your not right. i have like no ****** money.. i dont even have money for tires and i swear i have 0% tread, i got a 50$ ticket already for it. i posted in tech

If you don't have the funds, ask your parents to help you out. I'm sure they won't let you drive around on bald tires. That's an accident waiting to happen.
As for your motor, I have no clue. I'm not technical enough to provide you w/ the answers. Good luck w/ everything though...

i would do a valve adjustment first.........i could almost hear a knock at idle.......although it could be the valve ticking away.....
stock exhaust or aftermarket? exhaust leak maybe? sounds kinda loud over all even at the front of the car.........

i did nothing. just one day it sounded like that. maybe it happened after my friend drove it. one time he drove it and during his shift from 1st to second i heard a hella loud kathunk - BOOM. i dunno what he did. but it wasnt grinding.. it was like a big rock or somthing hit the car.
